About Joanna
From RN to Rooted. Nested.
Healing is a continuous journey: you are forever arriving, and you are worthy of the effort it takes to grow.

Hello There!
My career journey began as a Registered Nurse where I witnessed the profound connection between unresolved trauma and chronic health conditions. As I served patients, I kept asking: “What are we missing?”. Over time, the answer became clear: the deeper trauma that was the root cause of many illnesses. That experience led me to counseling, where I now offer a holistic, Mind-Body-Spirit approach to address trauma’s underlying impact on physical, emotional, and relational health.
My therapeutic style is compassionate, holistic, and trauma-informed. I primarily utilize therapies which engage the mind and body, such as EMDR, breathwork, and somatic therapies, while complementing these approaches with cognitive insights like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I emphasize healing through authentic self-awareness, nurturing relationships, and community interconnectedness.
I am a proud mom of two young kiddos who are my daily reminder of the beauty of growth and resilience. Based in Houston, Texas I love exploring the city’s incredible food scene, enjoying a group workout class, or losing myself in the magic of a Broadway or any type of live musical performance. I believe that when we are rooted in what is true, we can fully enjoy the “nested” moments that make life rich.
I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and liberative space for everyone. As an activist and someone who has processed my own trauma, I hope to bring an authentic, principled, and reform-minded approach to my practice. Rooted. Nested. welcomes all adults, regardless of gender, sexuality, faith, or background.

A Moment of Reflection
Our work begins where these questions meet. I invite you to sit with them for a moment.
To be Deeply Rooted
- Do you understand who you are and the intrinsic worth you hold?
- Are your choices aligned with your values and supportive of your holistic well-being?
To be Well Nested
- Are your relationships founded on trust, respect, mutual care, and clear boundaries?
- Do your interactions reflect reciprocal investment and emotional safety?
Shall we begin?
If these questions resonate with you, you don’t have to navigate the answers alone. Let’s explore how we can build a life where you feel truly rooted and well nested.
